The best way to treat autism begins early, during the preschool years, and is tailored to the child’s age and interests. The visuals gives a lot of help to a child. It will help them develop their psycho motor skills. Addressing children's good behavior with positive reinforcement would be of help. Most children with autism respond well to highly structured, specialized programs. Parents or primary caregivers as well as other family members should be involved so it will become part of the child’s daily life.

Visuals, visuals,visuals..that's the strategy that's worked for us! Whenever our son had a new adventure coming on we used visuals to reinforce the change. Whether it was eating and a reward or happy face or a plastic pocket book filled with maps and pictures of people and bedrooms of where we would stay on our holiday. Be careful to always include a picture of home and his bed/toys/yard etc to mark the return journey.
Our son loved to swing so that's where his language began. I'd say, " I like jelly" and he'd say, " I like biscuits" and you could get lots done by pushing him on a swing! Still can!
