Hi. I'm Monique Simpson, an Autism Specialist and Speech Pathologist who has been specialising in treating children with autism for over 11 years now.

I have specialized in autism for the last 11 years and for the past 8 years I have run a clinic called Connect Therapy that specializes in treating children with autism as well as training and educating their parents.

I am sure you may like to know more about my background and experience in Autism…..
As mentioned above I have specialized in autism for the last 11 years and over the past 8 years have founded and directed a popular Sydney-based therapy clinic called Connect Therapy that specializes in treating children with autism as well as training and educating their parents.
Even though I am a speech pathologist, my clients say that I am more of a general ‘Autism Specialist’ because I am able to treat their children very holistically whilst still incorporating all of my speech pathology skills. I have worked and trained with a wide range of professionals throughout my career which has equipped me with these skills and experience.
My expertise and experience in autism has included...
- 11 years working solely treating children diagnosed with Autism (ASD).
- A degree in Speech Pathology from Sydney University.
- Consulting to a wide variety of programs including ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis), Autism Association schools, special needs and mainstream schools.
- Researching and trialing a range of different therapies both in the USA and Australia including Son Rise, RDI and Floortime (DIR).
- I have treated children across the entire autism spectrum, ranging from 20 months to 13 years of age.
- 3 years working at Giant Steps Sydney (a specialist school for children with autism).
- Specialising 100% in home and school based therapy. So I am very experienced at incorporating therapy into a child's everyday environment.
- Founding and developing Connect Therapy in 2002, a popular Sydney based speech and occupational therapy program.

Who is the Program Relevant for?
Because the program is designed to work with the individual charcteristics and behaviours of each child, it is not particularly important how old the child is, what degree of autism they have or when they were diagnosed.
The main thing to consider is the experience and training that the parents have had. The children who make the biggest improvements are those who's parents are able to identify where their child is breaking down in their development and are able to help them practically on a day to day basis.
